Dec 30 2015
With 2016 only days away, I thought I’d try to get one more post out here before the year is over.
I don’t want to get on my soapbox, it’s too hot to go to that sort of effort today. All I want to do is wish you all a happy new year. Be safe during your celebrations, you never know what might happen. Take it from someone who knows.
I was never a Motorhead fan but I can’t but help feeling sad for Lemmy’s family and friends. For those of you who don’t know, and I only just found out, Lemmy was the lead singer for Motorhead. He died today. He was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer on the 26th December. For me, that’s four days ago, but because of time zone differences, that was probably only three days ago for Lemmy.
I don’t know Lemmy, I didn’t listen to his music, but stories like this get to me. It can happen so suddenly. Life feels great, but then something happens and your fighting for your life… but what about your soul? I said earlier I wasn’t going to preach from my soapbox, so… I’ll only say this… do you believe in an afterlife? Where are you going to spend eternity? Think about it.
OK, enough of that. Have a great new year! May God bless you and keep you safe. I’ll leave you with this passage from 1 Chronicles 4:10. Why not pray it for yourself?
“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.” (NIV version)
